Lair No. 3 of the Rascals, Rogues, and Rapscallions held its third quarter 2024 meeting on Saturday, September 15, 2024, in upper room at the newly-renovated Ungerman Barn at Huntingdon Valley Presbyterian Church. The evening's program was the Lair's annual Research Reports meeting. Jim Barr spoke about Nearest Green, an African American whiskey distiller. Sean McVan reviewed "The Troubles" in Ireland. Dan Morrison spoke about club histories and the Pennsylvania Historical Society. Jordan Goretti discussed Art Deco and uranium glass. Michael Landis held forth on the paleo-archeology and the solutrean hypothesis. Jeff Sivek talked about his interest in Ben Franklin's Junto club. George Green gave us an update on his brewing experiments. Michael Moscherosch discussed his work with African entrepreneurs. Dave Hamalian discussed his interest in salons, of the French and talking variety (particularly the one at Graeme Park, which may have descended from Franklin's Junto). Bruno Sousa, attending his first RR&R meeting, told us about his favorite Brazilian soccer club, Vasco da Gama. Reporting online from Texas were Jason Enelow who discussed medieval spices, and Hayes Lewis who talked about useless Japanese inventions.
